Getting Started with Keeper Password Manager (Public)

Welcome to Keeper Password Manager! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and getting started with Keeper’s powerful security features.


Step 1: Accepting Your Invitation

You will receive an email invitation to set up your Keeper account. Click on the link in the email to begin the setup process.


Step 2: Choosing a Strong Master Password

Your master password is the only password you need to remember, so make sure it’s strong and secure. We recommend:

  • Using three random words (e.g., "CandleTreeOcean")

  • If not using three words, ensure the password is long and unique

  • Avoiding passwords you have used elsewhere

Keeper never stores or has access to your master password, so make sure to keep it safe.

Step 4: Getting Started with Keeper

Using the Keeper Desktop App

  1. Download Keeper for your device

  2. Install the application and log in with your new credentials

  3. Begin adding passwords or importing existing ones

Installing the Keeper Browser Extension

  1. Install Keeper to your browser

  2. Install the extension and log in

  3. Keeper will now help you autofill and generate passwords directly in your browser

Optionally add Keeper to your mobile

  1. Install Keeper on your mobile

  2. Keeper will now help you autofill and generate passwords including apps on your mobile
